Your first step

Book your level test.

Thirty minutes online with the studio. We assess your English level out loud against the CEFR scale (A1 to C2), talk about what you're learning English for, and match you with the right teacher. The level test itself is free; you decide whether to enroll afterwards.

The call

What happens in those thirty minutes.

It's a real conversation, not a test you can fail. Most of the work is us listening to you speak naturally about your life and your work.

We say hello, and ask what you want from English.

Why now, what you've already tried, what you actually need to do: write to a client in São Paulo, sit a Cambridge exam, follow your kid's school in Toronto, sound less formal in meetings. The clearer this gets, the better the match.

We do a short oral assessment.

You read a short paragraph aloud so we can hear your pronunciation and pacing. We ask a few open questions to gauge fluency, grammar in use, and vocabulary breadth. We finish with a brief impromptu task, something like describing a process you know well or summarising an article we share on screen.

We talk about schedule, format, and goals.

Small live groups. Two evening classes a week, or one three-hour class on Saturday mornings. Semesters run March to June and July to November, paid by semester or by month. We tell you what we'd recommend given your level and your goals, and we listen to what works for your week.

We tell you, the same day, what level you are.

You leave the call knowing your CEFR placement (A1 to C2), our recommendation, and which of our teachers we'd match you with. The written version (placement, one-page note, teacher proposal) lands in your inbox within twenty-four hours.

Who you'll meet

A member of the studio, not a salesperson.

The level test is run by someone from the studio. Most weeks that's Andrea Saleme, who handles admin and intake. Some weeks (depending on schedule and language) it's one of the teachers: Florencia, Reuben, Heather, Ricardo, or Diana. You'll know who before the call.

The assessment is done in English, because we need to hear you in English. We offer Spanish or Portuguese support when it helps, especially at A1 and A2, so a beginner never gets stuck in silence. There is no script and no quiz: just a conversation, paced for your level.

You can read each teacher's full bio, certification, and specialty on the teachers page. The level test is not the moment we sell you on a teacher; it's the moment we figure out which one fits.

What you'll get

Four concrete things, within a day.

No vague "we'll be in touch". Each of the four arrives in writing so you can hold us to it.

  • A CEFR placement, A1 through C2.

One letter and a short note on what that means in practice: what you can already do, where the next stretch lies. Sent to you within twenty-four hours of the call.

  • A one-page recommendation.

Which program fits (general, conversation, exam prep), at what pace, and roughly how long the next level takes for students like you. One page, no upsell ladder.

  • A teacher match proposal.

The one (sometimes two) teachers from the studio whose schedule, specialty, and style we'd match you with. With a sentence explaining why.

  • No obligation to enroll.

You keep the placement, the note, and the match proposal whether you sign up or not. If you take it elsewhere, that's fine. We'd rather you came back next year than enrolled today out of pressure.

"No obligation" is not a slogan. We send the result either way, and we don't follow up beyond one email.
